Jessica and Andy are married!! Yay!!!! You may remember their engagement session that we did at Village Park earlier this year (if not, you can check that out here.) They are just seriously two of my favorite people and they are so utterly in love that it’s impossible to take a bad photo of them! Their wedding was at the lovely Riverwood Manor in Harrisburg, NC.
Jessica and Andy made my job SO EASY! Now don’t get me wrong, I love a challenge, but it’s also nice to have that wedding day where you know the timeline is going to run smoothly; we are never going to be rushed and we just have plenty of time! They had a small bridal party, small family formal shot list, AND they did a first look.
When I arrived, I had about 45 minutes until Jessica arrived but she left all of her details there so Kayla and I could go ahead and get started (Kayla shoots Friday weddings with me since Cory has a day job)! Riverwood Manor has an amazing bridal AND groom suite! They were both great for details. Jessica arrived with her mom, sister (MOH), and her bff (other MOH) and they obviously see all of the same amazing qualities in Jessica that I do! Getting Jessica prepared to marry the love of her life was so intimate, sweet, and fun!
We then headed outside for the first look and ya’ll, they get me every time! Silly Andy didn’t even know that they were doing one but he saw his beautiful bride for the first time and they got to share that special moment together themselves. It was so romantic and adorable! We had time to cool off a bit then knocked out their newlywed shots and all of their bridal party formals!
Kayla and I captured all of their Ceremony and Reception decor just before the ceremony. I don’t know why, but one of my favorite parts of the day is getting reception decor. Jessica told me earlier in the day that she just wanted everything to be simple; she wanted this day to be focused on what really mattered, that was that she was marrying her love so the details were just that, simple. To me, simple is beautiful and the best way to decorate a reception!
After the ceremony, we had a few family formals and since everything else was already done, they got to enjoy their cocktail hour while I had time to do table shots! This is something I absolutely love doing if the day allows for it. Just before the reception starts (if you do a first look and time allows) I like to go around the tables and grab a photo of each group of people! I think it’s super awesome that the bride can look back at their album and see everyone who was at their wedding! It’s also fun to have a formal-ish photo of you and your family as a guest!
They then partied the night away and since my mother-in-law was keeping the kids over night, I met Cory at his softball game that lasted until MIDNIGHT!!! Yes you heard me correctly, midnight! Anyway, that’s a story for another day. Go ahead and drool over the love between these two and if you were there, let me know your favorite part of their day!
