Let’s talk bridal sessions. Is it REALLY important that you do a bridal session? It’s not necessary, but there are so many advantages that I recommend doing one!
Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. You’ve been planning it for a year (or two!) and it should be nothing short of spectacular! If you are so uncomfortable in your dress that it’s making you miserable, that can definitely put a damper on the happiness of the day. When you do a bridal session your going to spend a full hour in your dress. That’s a lot less than you’ll be in it on your wedding day, but enough time to see how you’ll feel on your wedding day. If after 10 minutes your shoes are killing your feet, you may want to make a change. If your under-garments are so tight that you can barely breathe, you may want to make a change.
If you get your pictures back and you aren’t in love with your hair piece, you still have time to make a change!!
Your hair and/or make-up artist is going to do a trial run with you to make sure they know exactly what you want before your big day. They will also need to get an idea of the time it’s going to take to do your hair and make-up! In my opinion, you should do the same thing with your dress, as I mentioned above.
But, my point here is that your going to get your hair and make-up done, why not throw on your dress and make a session out of it!
Get your florist to make you a sample bouquet for your bridal photos. A lot of florists will offer this and even give you a discounted rate. You will get to see exactly the vision that they have for your bouquet. This bouquet you see is absolutely stunning but after seeing it, this bride realized it wasn’t exactly as she pictured. She talked to her florist and together they came up with the perfect bouquet to fit in with the rest of her wedding decor. I love them both, but the second one is JAW DROPPING!!
The obvious reason to do a bridal session is that you get a full session full of photos of YOU! We w
ill definitely grab some photos of you on your wedding day. We’ll grab a few of you getting into your dress, putting your jewelry on, and we’ll even take a few outside when we do your formals with your girls. But there is normally not enough time to get a FULL session of you in your dress on your wedding day.
Your wedding day is about you and your hubby-to-be, your bridal session is all about you and only YOU! You can put these photos on canvases and place them throughout your reception, or hang them in your bathroom so that every morning you can remind yourself just how beautiful you are. Whatever you do with them, make sure you look at them often <3
I love this post! So many good points.
Thank you so much!!
These are lovely and such wonderful advice. The bridal session isn’t a thing here in the west and I wish it was!
